The Olympic Park has several sports venues that were used during the 1988 Summer Olympics, including the Olympic Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 69,950 and was the main venue for the opening and closing ceremonies. There is also a large outdoor sculpture park, which features various sculptures and installations from Korean and international artists.
In addition to sports and cultural facilities, the Olympic Park has several natural landscapes, including a lake, a botanical garden, and a forest. The park is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, as it offers a wide range of activities and attractions.
My Personal Experience
My visit to the park on a Tuesday (25 October 2022) was pleasant and enjoyable. It’s a nice park to wander and get away for a moment of quiet from the city. The weather was nice that day and the colours of autumn were the star of the show.
I arrived in the morning and spent the whole and part of the after-noon in the park. The park has great views and outdoor sculptures to visit. It also offers some great places to have a picnic, which I took the liberty to do so.
Please see the YouTube video below to see a point of view of my experience in the park.

Transit and Getting to the Park
The park is easily accessible with public transport. Use apps such as Naver Maps to start point-to-point navigation. For me, since my hotel was close to Seoul Station, I had to take Line 4, then transfer to Line 5 at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park. The commute takes about 50 to 64 minutes from Seoul Station.
