Review
Location, story and background
Bel.G (벨지 / Bél-Ji) is a Belgian pub located near Itaewon in the Yongsan district. Easily accessible by metro, take Line 6 to Noksapyeong station and cross the pedestrian bridge. As you walk across the bridge, enjoy the stunning views of Mt. Nam and Namsan Tower to the north. This iconic bridge has not only become popular for its beautiful vistas but has also been featured in Korean dramas like ‘Itaewon Class’ (이태원 클라쓰). After crossing the bridge, head north toward Namsan for approximately 400 meters. At the first red light, cross the street and turn right. In about 150 meters, you’ll find a cosy square, and the pub will be on your right. Look out for the prominent sign that reads ‘Belgium Draft Beer’ on the building. The entrance to the pub is on the right side—just follow the ‘Bel.G’ sign, go up the stairs to the first floor (or 2nd floor if you’re using the Korean standard for counting floors).
Reception & Service
The reception was decent. When I visited, I found myself alone in the pub. There were no other people besides the bartender, whom I suspect was also the owner. As I settled at the bar, I contemplated striking up a conversation with the bartender. However, he seemed a bit reserved—perhaps due to a language barrier. Despite his quiet demeanour, he kindly offered a complimentary portion of salted pretzels with my beer, making for excellent service overall.
Interior & Cosiness
The pub’s interior captivated me—the warm lighting, dark wooden furniture, and exposed brick walls created an inviting ambiance. Behind the bar, an impressive array of Belgian ales awaited, and my chosen brew arrived in a uniquely-designed, branded glass for this particular ale (Corsendonk).
Despite the abundance of tables, the pub remained sparsely populated during my visit. Perhaps weekends will draw more people. On that Wednesday evening, the cosy atmosphere compensated for the lack of company. If only my Airbnb were closer, I’d be a regular visitor.
Pricing
I have to go on memory here, since I paid in cash, but the price for the beverage that I ordered was priced well and competitive to other businesses in the area.
My Order

⭐ I think you should short-list this place. ⭐
While my initial impression was cautious due to being the sole customer during my visit, I suspect the ambiance comes alive on weekends. It’s an intriguing spot to spend your evening, complete with an impressive selection of Belgian beer products. If you find yourself in the area, it’s definitely worth a visit!
